We are Altitude FC

Altitude FC is a North Shore based club that has recently been introduced as one of the founding clubs of the new League1 BC. They intend to provide more opportunities for young men and women with higher-level aspirations to have the time and club support to help them mature as players, as they transition from youth football to adult high-performance soccer.

Based out of the historic Kinsment stadium, the club lead by Faly Basse was inspired by the North Shore mountains in creation of their unique soccer brand. Their logo reflects the momentum they are hoping to create in the community, and symbolizes flight and levels of altitude.

“Altitude FC is the home club of a proud and passionate soccer region that encompasses North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor up to Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.”

  • We are unique in that we don’t only just focus on our team play, we also focus on the culture of the club. We build team spirit together, Women ’s and Men’s players and coaching staff, together. Altitude FC has a true focus on both the women’s and men’s teams. With this we believe that to achieve success as a team that is like family off the field, we will have success on the field. These are our goals as well; to be successful on the field as a strong side and to create a positive atmosphere that is known in the community.

  • BC has an immense talent pool. Many of these players come from the North Shore and have gone on to play from youth to collegiate in USports and American collegiate programs. (NCAA/NAIA)

We believe that nurturing our back yard is important for the future development of the game. We draw locally and have held tryouts. We have also scouted throughout the year having our eyes on youth and mature talent across the pacific north west and across Canada.

  • It’s important because we finally have a pathway for women. This is a stepping stone to the next level for the players and it is an opportunity for the community to see the amazing talent we have. This should enlighten more people to get involved and invest in the game to pro level.

  • It has been endless hard work on many facets from many people at Altitude FC to make this happen. You have to have the right people in place in the right roles to build. It’s not just about the product on the field. There are people in the background doing amazing things to make this function professionally and to give these players the opportunity in this pathway.

  • It will be exciting. L1BC has players from all over BC that play at the highest levels here and across North America. We will see match ups from players that played at USport Nationals, NCAA. NAIA and some players have played professionally internationally. The games with be top notch, the atmosphere with be fun for the whole family.

  • We still have the challenges of the opportunities of path to pro. There are many talented female players that choose to go overseas to gain professional experience and notoriety. The players need more information and education on the possibilities and that there are many of different options. It’s not just about collegiate play, there needs to be more general awareness on the women’s game. We need funding, we need marketing, we need media coverage. We need more people to truly invest in the players, coaches and administrators in order to grow the game to a level it deserves in Canada.
